An accessibility panel that lets people use your site with the face, the eyes, the voice or one switch, plus reading, colour and pictogram aids. Free.

== Description ==

Winclus adds an accessibility panel to every page of your site. Visitors open it with a round button and choose what they find hard: "I can't use the mouse", "I see poorly", "I can't hear well", "Reading is hard for me"… The panel switches on the right aids at once.

**What people can do with the panel**

* **Use the site without hands:** a pointer that follows the head or the eyes through the webcam, clicks with a blink or a mouth gesture, one-switch and two-switch scanning, voice commands and dictation.
* **See better:** text and page zoom, high contrast, smart contrast that only fixes the text that is hard to read, dark mode, colour filters for colour blindness, reading guide and mask, large cursor, readable and dyslexia-friendly fonts.
* **Hear and read:** a built-in screen reader for people who don't have one installed, reading aloud, visual alerts for sounds, captions and a clean reading view that also opens the site's PDFs.
* **Understand and communicate:** easy reading, a dictionary with pictures, syllables in colour, and a communication board with ARASAAC pictograms and core vocabulary.
* **In their language:** the panel speaks 101 languages and follows the language of each page.

**What it gives the organisation**

* On-the-fly fixes for screen readers and keyboards (names, labels, "Skip to content", visible focus), listed in the panel so your team can fix them in the theme.
* With a free site key from the Winclus client panel: your logo and colours in the panel, anonymous usage figures, a daily accessibility monitor with screenshots and a report you can save as PDF.

**What Winclus is not**

Winclus is assistive technology for the people who visit your site. It does not make a site compliant with accessibility law (ADA, Section 508, EN 301 549, WCAG, Colombia's Resolution 1519) and it does not protect against complaints or lawsuits. A site complies when its own code does. Winclus helps people use the site today and tells you what to fix in the code.

The panel is open source (Apache 2.0) and has public automated tests at [winclus.com/evidencia](https://winclus.com/evidencia).

== Installation ==

1. Install the plugin from Plugins → Add New, or upload the `winclus` folder to `/wp-content/plugins/`.
2. Activate it. The round button appears on every public page straight away.
3. Optional: go to Settings → Winclus to choose the side of the button, turn the camera off, set the speech-recognition language or paste your site key.

== Frequently Asked Questions ==

= Is it free? =

Yes. The whole panel is free for everyone who uses it, with no limit on visits. Organisations can pay for extra services (monitor, reports, support) at [winclus.com/precios](https://winclus.com/precios), but the panel never loses features.

= Does it slow my site down? =

The loader is about 6 KB and brings the rest of the panel only after the page has been drawn, or as soon as someone who already uses Winclus arrives.

= Does it work with screen readers such as NVDA, JAWS or VoiceOver? =

Yes. The panel lives in its own isolated space (shadow DOM), does not trap the keyboard, does not rewrite the page's own ARIA and never invents image descriptions. People who already use a screen reader can simply leave the panel closed.

= Does the camera record people? =

No. The camera image is processed inside the visitor's browser and never leaves it. The camera only starts when the person turns it on and accepts a clear notice. You can also hide the camera option in the settings.

= Will it make my site compliant with the law? =

No, and no tool can. See "What Winclus is not" above.

= Does it work with page builders and caching plugins? =

Yes. It only adds one script tag at the end of the page, loaded asynchronously.

== External services ==

This plugin connects to **Winclus** (https://winclus.com), the service that provides the accessibility panel.

* **What is loaded and when:** on every public page, the visitor's browser loads the panel from `https://winclus.com/widget.js` (and, as needed, `https://winclus.com/winclus-widget.min.js`, the language file `https://winclus.com/idiomas/<language>.json` and, only if the person turns the camera on, the face model from `https://winclus.com/mediapipe/`).
* **What is sent:** nothing personal. The visitor's settings are stored in their own browser. The camera image never leaves the browser.
* **Only if you enter a site key:** the panel asks `https://winclus.com/api/config` for your panel settings, and when the visitor leaves a page it sends `https://winclus.com/api/uso` anonymous counts (how many times the panel was opened and which options were used). No IP address, cookie, identifier or page content is stored.
* **Only if you turn on the image description add-on in the client panel:** when a screen reader user reaches an image without alt text, the panel sends `https://winclus.com/api/describir` the image address and up to 600 characters of the text around it. Winclus passes them to Anthropic's Claude API (https://www.anthropic.com/legal/privacy), which reads the image from its address and writes the description. Nothing about the visitor is sent.
* **Only if the visitor uses them:** dictation and voice commands use the browser's own speech service (Google in Chrome, Microsoft in Edge, Apple in Safari); pictogram search queries ARASAAC (https://arasaac.org); the dictionary queries Wiktionary.

== Screenshots ==

1. The panel opens with "What do you find hard?" and ten options that switch on the right aids.
2. "See" tab: text size, contrast, colours, reading guide and fonts.
3. Communication board with ARASAAC pictograms and core vocabulary.
4. The panel in Arabic, right to left: it follows the language of the page.
5. "I see poorly" with one tap: larger text and more contrast on the whole page.

== Changelog ==

= 0.8.6 =
* If the visitor uses a screen reader such as NVDA or JAWS, Winclus steps aside on its own: it undoes what it changed on the page, stays silent and leaves a single small button to turn it back on. Decided in the visitor's browser; nothing is sent anywhere.
* On public-sector sites (.gov and similar) Winclus no longer changes the page: it only lists what the code is missing.
* Easy-to-read text is checked against the UNE 153101 EX guidelines and warns if a date or figure was lost or changed.

= 0.8.4 =
* Optional paid add-on for the client panel: an AI describes images that have no alt text. Screen reader users hear it announced as an "automatic description"; it only becomes the image's alt text after the site owner approves it.

= 0.8.3 =
* The panel speaks 101 languages, including Quechua, Guarani, Aymara and Haitian Creole.
* New "Site key" setting to use the Winclus client panel (brand, usage figures, monitor).
* New "On-the-fly fixes" setting.
* Fixed: the "fixed version" option loaded an older file with a newer integrity hash, so browsers blocked it.
* Licence of the plugin changed to GPLv2 or later (the panel itself stays Apache 2.0).

= 0.8.1 =
* First public version of the plugin.

== Upgrade Notice ==

= 0.8.3 =
If you use the "fixed version" option, update now: the previous plugin loaded a file whose integrity hash did not match and the panel did not appear.
